Apply the Knowledge

Proverbs 23:12

Apply thine heart unto instruction, and thine ears to the words of knowledge.”

It is a great thing to have knowledge but if you do nothing with it, it will do you no good.  No matter how much I know about fitness, if I never applied that knowledge, I would probably be over weight  and out of shape.  So, don’t just seek knowledge but put it to good use.

Are you eating the right cereal?

Proverbs 1:4-6 (New International Version)

5 let the wise listen and add to their learning,
and let the discerning get guidance

Choosing the right cereal is not an easy task. There are so many choices. When choosing a cereal, you want to make sure whole grain is included. You also want to make sure the sugar content is low as well. Most cereals have too much sugar in it. This is why I just eat hot cereal now. Grits, Cream of Wheat or Natural oatmeal. The instant oatmeal has too much sugar.  Here is an article that will educate you on choosing the right cereal.

Our Words are Powerful

Proverbs 5:1
"My son, pay attention to my wisdom; Lend your ear to my understanding,"

We are His sons (and daughters) and there is so much wisdom in His word so, we must pay attention. It is also interesting that because, we are made in His image, our words are powerful too. So be careful what you speak. Speak life not death.

Proverbs15:1 says, "A soft answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger."

Deuteronomy 5:33 Food For Thought (Longevity)

Deuteronomy 5:33 (New International Version)

"Walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess."

God promised you a long life but you must do your part. Lack of a healthy lifestyle is the leading cause of preventable deaths in the United States. Don’t shorten your days because of poor habits. Get active and live for Christ.

Proverbs 3
My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity.

Proverbs 15:29 God hears your prayers

I workout twice a day, 5-6 times a week for 8-12 weeks, when I’m preparing for a bodybuilding show. I don’t always feel like working out but I push myself and I ask God's for help. Before starting my workouts or while I’m warming up, I pray to God to help me while I’m working out.

The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous. (Proverbs 15:29).

I ask him to give me the strength to complete another workout. You might not want to workout but after praying, God will definitely guide you right through it. You will feel much better at the completion of the workout.

Stay healthy and be fit for the Lord.
